(Akron, OH) – October 10, 2023 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, recently appointed Amy Mucklo Cain as Business Development Manager of Smithers Ohio Cannabis Testing Services laboratory.

Cain will support the Ohio lab by providing clients with high touch customer service. She will work with cultivators and processors to ensure they receive timely compliance testing to meet regulatory requirements.

Cain has over 20 years of experience in the cannabis and craft beverage markets and was a sales leader for one of Ohio’s first vertically integrated processors.

Amy has a proven track record of building strong client relationships through providing high-quality service, education, and solution-based interactions in the cannabis industry,” states AJ McCardell, President, Smithers Cannabis Testing Services Division. “With the combination of her knowledge of the Ohio market and understanding the importance of delivering accurate, reliable data on time to our clients, she will be a great asset to our team and the clients we serve.” 

Before joining the team at Smithers, Cain was the Sales Manager at Firelands Scientific, where she was a key member of the sales and multi-state operators (MSO) expansion teams. In this role, she was responsible for developing the wholesale staff, relationship management, product development, and marketing.  Prior, Cain served as Vice President of Sales and Distribution for Platform Beer Co., where she increased volume as well as the company’s wholesaler network across four states.
